Cooking is an important life skill, and also a great way of practising fine motor tasks, following instructions, sequencing and following safety rules.

At school, we use visual instructions to support learning and to encourage the children to follow the steps more independently. It is a good idea to practice the same recipe several times so that your child can gradually become more confident with the actions and will start to remember the sequence.

Here, Anna talks through ideas to support the learning of cooking skills at home and her assistants show you how to make a vegetable frittata!
