Shona Morgan - Outreach Adviser and SEN Training Facilitato


Shona trained and worked as a mainstream primary teacher in New Zealand before coming to the UK sixteen years ago. She worked at various primary schools before teaching at Cherry Garden and gaining her Advanced Skills Teacher qualification. Shona is a Specialist Lead Educator for SEN and a Makaton Regional tutor. and will be running training in the autumn term.

Anna Parsons - Outreach Adviser

Anna trained at Cambridge University and taught for six years in mainstream in all key stages.  She has been teaching at Cherry Garden since 2008, working with children with a wide range of learning difficulties. Since 2014 she has been seconded by Southwark for two days a week to provide an outreach service for children with MLD/SLD in mainstream schools. This role typically involves coming into the school for a series of around four visits in order to initiate and help the school to implement strategies and ideas to support the child’s learning. It can also involve a range of other activities, such as supporting children with transition into Reception, setting up and running groups of children from different schools to meet a specific need, and running twilight INSET training for school staff. 

Anna is also a Makaton Regional Tutor and regularly runs Makaton workshops.
